Word clouds are good for getting a quick impression of the overall themes of a piece of textual data, whether it's a technical article, a chapter of a book, or a list of tweets.

There are lots of free online tools for generating them; one example is

Excercise:

What can you tell about each of the data inputs at a glance? What does this tell you about the overall content?

Show the Word Cloud to the person next to you, and compare. Can they tell what data source you used? Can you tell which they used?

Create a word cloud of two different types of textual data. such as the text from two different Wikipedia articles, or a piece of fiction from and a piece of non-fiction, or your Twitter archive vs. Donald Trump's.
